AIM AND TOPICS

This is the second edition of the Workshop in Environmental Finance for the Common Good. This year the topics addressed will be at the crossroad between sustainability, digitalisation and diversity in the area of finance and financial intermediation.

 

The organising committee welcomes submissions of unpublished papers on the following main areas and their overlaps:

 

Digitalisation

  • Fintech
  • Digital financial services
  • Technological applications in the financial industry
  • Digital bank and digital insurance
  • AI in finance
  • Blockchain and DLT applications in finance
  • Cryptoassets and NFT

 Diversity

  • Gender diversity in digital financial services
  • Board of directors in financial intermediaries and companies
  • Other traits of diversity (e.g., age, nationality, background) and impact on financial services provision
  • Diversity and performance

Sustainability

  • Green finance and financial innovation
  • ESG measurement and performance
  • Impact investing and greenhouse emissions
  • Fairness of AI in finance
  • Sustainability in investment products
  • How to finance the environmental transition in developing economies
  • The role of artificial intelligence in supporting environmental transition/finance

Authors are expected to present onsite. Authors can submit more than one paper, but each author is required to present only one paper. The other can be presented by co-authors.

The paper selection will represent a balanced view between industrial and non-industrial studies. Papers will be reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee. Authors of accepted papers are expected to be available to serve as discussants. The final program will be made available by 25 March.

"Cost FinAI award" will be presented to the best paper on the sub-topic of the role of artificial intelligence in supporting environmental transition/finance by an Early career investigator (ECI), a researcher below 40 years.
